Do Machines Dream of Immigration?
An interactive multi-sensory installation by Nasha Studio, presented at Aavistus Festival 2024
The installation invites visitors into a dialogue with “Nadia” — a sculptural machine intelligence caught in a state of metamorphosis, whose AI-driven dreamscape reflects on the universal experience of immigration. Through surreal visuals, soundscapes, and real-time interaction, the work uses immigration as a lens to examine empathy, compassion, and the risk of losing human values amid technological acceleration. Visitors don’t merely observe — they migrate into Nadia’s dream, their presence, audio, and textual inputs shaping its unfolding narrative and prompting reflection on their own preconceptions.
